Kazimir Samujlo (Left)
A cornerstone of The International Set since its inception in 1972, Kaz brings a lifetime of musical expertise to the stage. Originally from Poland and a retired music educator, his technical mastery shines through on both the trumpet and accordion. As a founding member, Kaz’s deep understanding of European arrangements is essential to the authentic sound the group is known for today.
John Mitchell (Right)
A member of The International Set since 2010, John’s musical journey began at the age of 12. While a talented trumpeter, he finds his true expression on the cornet, bringing a warm, melodic tone to the ensemble. Specializing in both the upbeat flair of Dixieland and the festive energy of Oktoberfest, John is a multi-talented performer who also steps up to the microphone to delight audiences with his vocals.
Chuck Kerr (Center)
A pillar of The International Set since its founding in 1972, Chuck’s career began as a percussion prodigy in Ottawa, performing professionally before he even held a driver’s license. After honing his craft at the University of Ottawa within the Music Education program, he spent years as a touring musician before returning to dedicate his talents to the local stage. With over 50 years of tenure and a lifetime of rhythmic expertise, Chuck provides the steady, masterful heartbeat that defines our ensemble’s signature sound.
